On August 28, 2010, Annak Ti Candon International, Inc. (Annak) held its
induction of officers and charity concert in Rosemead, California. The
event was attended by members and guests from various states and cities,
including guests from the Philippines. It was also a successful
fundraiser for the Annak Ti Candon Computerization Program.
The National Board and Officers of Annak for the term 2010 to 2012 took
their oath of office before Dr. Cesar Guerrero, a successful physician
and a member of Annak. Inducted to office were: Omar B. de Peralta,
President; George A. Dy, 1st Vice President; Albert B. Gaceta, 2nd Vice
President; Amelia S. Benitez, Secretary; Gloria Gambito, Asst.
Secretary; Myrna M. Bandril, Treasurer; Charmaine B. Mendoza, Asst.
Treasurer; Ida D. Stauter, PRO; Mena Y. De Peralta, Asst. PRO; Chona
Beza, Auditor; Ely Clarin, Financial Consultant; and members of the
Board, Rigel Dario, Liling P. Diaz, Marylou Gaceta, Nestor Gazmen and
Estefania Herold.
Calling to mind the slogan of Candon public schools: “Edukasyon and
Solusyon,” Dr. Guerrero impressed upon the importance of good education.
He mentioned several annak ti Candon who have succeeded in life because
of good education, family support, and determination to succeed. He
applauded Annak’s Computerization Program and urged the members and
sponsors to continue supporting Annak’s noble cause of providing the
students the tools to attain good education through donations of
computers, books, and library reference materials.
Echoing on the importance of good education, in his message, President
Omar B. de Peralta indicated that Annak has chosen education as the path
to which they are giving back to the community, and that because of the
successful fundraising event, Annak will be able to meet its goal of
donating computers to all public schools in Candon City. And, as a
future goal, the establishment of resource centers equipped with
computers, books and library materials.
Setting the tone of the celebration and highlighting the event was the
performance of Julius Obregon. True to his billing as, “The Gentleman of
Songs,” he captivated the admiration of the audience with his rendition
of timeless and golden songs of yesterday and classy jokes. His
impersonation of Johnny Mathis was a stand-out and was most applauded.
Another successful event for a noble cause.
