Transparency and Accountability
“Show me the
financial report.”
This is the
common response, and sometimes demanded, by members of associations who
advocate transparency to questions regarding finances, most specially after
fund-raising events. Most associations do not, as a matter of course,
release financial reports to their members unless demanded. Annak takes
this issue seriously and takes a higher ground. It believes, and
paraphrasing the words of Gov. Rick Perry of Texas, “that every association
ought to publish its financial reports online. Association that is open and
honest will always be able to withstand the light of day.”
Annak ti
Candon International, Inc. (Annak) is committed to financial transparency
and leadership accountability in the management of its affairs. Its members
and donors deserve to know how their money and donations are being managed
and spent. It believes in a non-intrusive mechanism for monitoring its
finances and management of its affairs
In furtherance
of this policy, Annak launches an on-line reporting of its financial reports
and makes its financial reports available to its members, patrons and the
public through its website. Thus, it will publish on this website the
following reports.
1.
Annual Financial Report.
2.
Financial Report of every fund-raising event.
Annak recently
released to its membership and sponsors the financial report for the
First Charity Ball which was held on July 12, 2008 in Los Angeles,
California. This report, as all reports that will be published on line, was
prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, and
are the same financial reports filed by Annak in compliance with the
requirement of the IRS for non-profit and tax-exempt associations (Annak is
tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, DLN No.
17053240317039, effective May 25, 2007).
Annak
leadership assures its members a responsible stewardship in the management
of the associations’ affairs. The officers are accountable for the
financial decisions they make on behalf of the membership. They take
responsibility for the outcomes expected of such decisions- both good and
bad.
